We bought the Little Black Book Rome from you a couple of months ago and it was great!
We really liked the restaurants recommended - ones that you would never go to without the book - cant recall the names right now but there was one near the coliseum - fantastic family run and very reasonably priced, then there was one near Piazza Navona where all the locals went - fantastic! Congratulations! I used your great little book on my last trip to Rome in September. We rented an apt. in the Ghetto/Largo Argentina area - a place not covered by a lot of the mainstream guidebooks. We tried La Bruschetteria degli Angeli (good) and Pane Vino e San Daniele (wonderful!). I had walked by the Gelateria San Crispino near Trevi many times on other trips, but never went in. Wow - gelato as a work of art!
After using your recommendations a couple of times, my friends would ask me - "What does the Black Book say?" any time we needed to find a cafe. I won't go back to Rome without the latest copy in my bag. Thanks again Linda Rossi Greenbrae, CA USA April 2006 |

Last, regarding your "Little Black Book": we found it an excellent resource. The two restaurants that we tried, La Carbonara and Mia Osteria, had wonderful food and weren't filled with other tourists. Mia Osteria was the more upscale eatery, with a higher level of service (better stemware and overall presentation) and correspondingly higher prices (though still a good value). Nevertheless, we enjoyed La Carbonara just as much for its more informal atmosphere and fine food. They also had a very extensive yet reasonably priced wine list--makes you want to try something different every time since the consequences of a "bad" selection are minimal.
The next time we're in Rome, we're relying on your tome. The size is perfect too: small, thin, and easy to slip into a pocket. Victor Tom Kirkland, Washington, USA April 2006 |

I have been to Rome and this handy, back pocket fitting guide is great. The writers hit the nail right on the head on this one. Very Informative and I share their passion for one of my favorite cities in the world. Many kudos.

Excellent book! Has all the inside info. on touring Rome and enjoying it like the locals. My wife and I went to Rome this summer and with the use of the book we were able to get away from all the tourist crowds and truly see Rome. Highly recommended

Finally, a tourist guide which is not "touristy". This book is what I always looked for. It was so helpful for my stay in Rome, since it did not give the standard recommendations like normal tourist guides, but it gave insider information for the coolest and hippest places to go to from the Roman point of view. Like this, I could experience the true Rome and feel the true Italian atmosphere. So we didn't have to waist time to find the right places to go to or were misled to a tourist trap place. Great book, this should definitely be continued for different cities! Don't go to Rome without!!!
